The six games of Round 1's Pool D were held at Hiram Bithorn in San Juan. Pool D teams included Dominican Republic, Kingdom of Netherlands, Panama and Puerto Rico. Round 1 was double elimination and resulted in the elimination of Panama and the Dominican Republic. Puerto Rico and the Netherlands advanced to Round 2 in Miami, Florida.
