The six games of Round 1's Pool B were held at Foro Sol Stadium in Mexico City. Pool B teams included Australia, Cuba, Mexico and South Africa. Round 1 was double elimination and saw the elimination of South Africa and Australia. Cuba and Mexico advanced to Round 2 in San Diego, California.
